space and balance

space is used in photography to add depth into the photo by either filling the positive space or negative space in the photo. it can also be used to create motion and balance to the photo. i used space by filling up the frame. balance is used to create equal visual weight in the photo. this balances out the sides of the photo to the viewer. this photo uses balance by making the bottle and the reflection equal.

colour and unity

colour is used to envoke emotion in a photo by using different colours. cool colours can feel more peaceful while warm colours can feel more exciting. colour can also be used to make a subject stand out. this photo uses colour by contrasting the pink and the green. unity is used to show the whole subject in a photo by not cutting out any part of the subject. this photo uses unity by keeping the whole flower in the photo.

shape and pattern/repetition

shape is used in photography to add geometrical shapes to the photo or add a frame. this photo uses shape with the black border heart. pattern and repetition is used in photography to create rhythm and balance. this photo uses repetition by reusing the stones outside and inside the heart.

lines and movement

lines is used in photography to lead the eye of the viewer to the subject. in this photo i used the lines in the background to lead the viewers eye along the side of the photo leading to the cards. movement is used in this photo by capturing the cards in movement. movement is used to show what is happening in the photo. i used movement by capturing the cards frozen in time as they flew out of the hand.

texture and movement

texture is used in photography to show how things look and feel in real life. i used the terf field for texture in this photo. movement is used in photography to capture movement and show action in the photo. i caught a goal in action to represent movement.

value and balance

value is used in photography to show the ranges between the darkest to the lightest colour and all the shades in between. this photo uses value because you can see the contrast in the dark shades of her eyes, to her fair skin, the the reflection in her eyes. balance is used in photography to make the photo look even and balance it out to the eye. this photo uses balance by keeping both sides of the face equal.
